James LeBas is a retired consultant on Texas fiscal matters. During his years of service, he held seats on the board of directors of the Texas Taxpayers and Research Association as well as on Comptroller Hegar’s Taxpayer Advisory Group. Clients included the Texas Apartment Association, Texas Oil & Gas Association, Independent Bankers Association of Texas, Association of Electric Companies of Texas, Media For Texas, H-E-B Grocery Company, and other Texas businesses and associations. Texas Observer magazine had described him as one of the state’s most powerful lobbyists.
